Here's my list of my favorite songs for each of nearly 700 artists with female vocals, mostly from 
the indie/folk/electronic/
alternative genres.   The ratings for these songs come from my iPod: 
100 = 5 stars, 80 = 4 stars, and 60 = 3 stars.   
I've updated many of the genres listed below, but still have a long way to go in that dept.

I'm posting this with the hope that (1) you enjoy seeing this list 
and get ideas for music they'd like to hear, and (2) you might be 
able to suggest other bands that I should check out.

I haven't included some of my favorite female vocal songs 
by artists with both male & female vocals (such as Dead Can Dance), 
but may go back and add those in later as a follow-up post.
